I own  a company  that hosts events around the world. This season, I was at our Utah Dirty Dash event, overseeing and walking around with some friends, when one of them made a comment about the guy emceeing. "Isn't it crazy that you got into the event world as the emcee for this event, and now you own the entire thing?" You hear stories all the time about someone who started in the mailroom and became the CEO. It suddenly dawned on me: Five years ago, I knew nothing about hosting successful events. Now, I own an event company that has brought festivities to 3 million attendees in more than 15 countries. Five years ago, I was the newbie. I went to "experts" for advice. Now, most of those experts aren't even in the industry anymore. I wondered, "How am I still here?" And more importantly, what could I tell someone who was just starting out that would ensure them a successful, sustainable career, free from eventual burnout? How could I h

The Executive Secretary of PPPRA, Abdulkadir Saidu, gave the assurance on Tuesday. He further pleaded with Nigerians to disregard speculations that there would be an increase from the current price of N145 per litre. Saidu also urged marketers to avoid distorting the pump price of petrol in their various retail outlets, adding that the PPPRA will keep monitoring prices in depots and filling stations across the country. According to him, the agency will ensure strict adherence to the regulated pump price in order to curb “sharp practices” engaged in some retail outlets. The PPPRA executive secretary said any marketer who fails to comply with the directive would be “sanctioned adequately”. While commending petroleum product marketers for entering into dialogue with the federal gove

If you are one of those people that think plastic products are a safe abode for you and have little risks, you may have to think again as they aren’t as safe as you thought after all. Do you treasure your Tupperware? Possess a passion for plastic? If you have any of those blue-lidded containers lining your fridge, you might want to give them a second glance. If you follow trendy news, you will probably know by now that BPA (also called Bisphenol-A), a chemical found in plastic products, is extremely dangerous for the human health. Research shows that BPA from plastic containers can leach into our food and beverages, leading to heart problems, cancer, infertility, and other health issues as we grow older. But even if your plastic is BPA-free, it could still harbour a number of scary health hazards. According to a new study published in the journal Environmental Health Perspectives, a typical substitute called Bisphenol-S (BPS)—which you’ll find in many BPA-free products—isn’
